“I want to be happier”. It’s a notion that often comes up for many people, especially at this time of year, with New Year’s resolutions flying around. Who doesn’t want to find simple ways to be happier?
But how do you set about “being happier”, especially if you are in a season of life that just…isn’t. For some, the goal of being happier seems so far out of reach that it winds up being overwhelming.
Research shows that our brains are hard-wired to notice more of the negative aspects of life. Think back to our caveman days of constant “fight or flight” responses, looking out for danger in order to avoid, you know, death! So it’s almost human nature to live in the negative spiral of “omg doom”….
