How To Get Healthy Meals On The Table Fast

If you’re a busy mom (and who isn’t?!?) then you are always on the lookout for things that will make your life easier, simpler, smoother and happier!!!  And when it comes to getting dinner on the table, you need it fast, healthy, and tasty for even the pickiest of picky eaters!

You need cookbooks that don’t mess around.

Sure, you could spend hours searching on Pinterest for a recipe for tonight’s dinner while you’re on your lunch break.  Or you could ask your friends on Facebook what they are making.  Or you might realize that there’s no groceries at home, give up and head to the nearest drivethru (it’s okay mama, don’t beat yourself up…we all do it).

But I urge you to check out some of these ideas, the best cookbooks for busy moms.  Add them to your Christmas wish list!  Buy one for yourself for Mother’s Day, or heck, any day!  Not only are they full of awesome recipes, they are also penned by authors you probably know and love already.

Tasty Ultimate: How To Cook Basically Anything

You’ve seen the videos all over Facebook, the deliciously tempting recipes, you might even own their cookware, or that famous blue hotplate!  There is a reason to love this cookbook too.  With over 150 recipes from beginner to pro, this cookbook also teaches cooking skills, hacks and how to conquer the kitchen!

The SkinnyTaste Cookbook

My sister got me hooked on Skinnytaste, after messaging picture after picture of winning recipes she made for her family.  The key to these delicious recipes is simple, easy to find ingredients, full of flavour!  Written by a busy mom of two, with an keen eye for healthy ingredients, this one is a winner!

The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Come and Get It!

The subtitle says it all…Simple, Scrumptious Recipes for Crazy, Busy Lives.  Exactly the kind of lives many of us single mamas live every day!  We need easy, no fuss, fast ideas for meals for our families, and Ree Drummond delivers (well, I wish she delivered…right to my house!) in this cookbook designed for real life!

Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals

Jamie Oliver is probably our favourite chef.  Good food, simple ingredients, all done up with humour and his non-stop quest to get kids eating healthier.  With this cookbook, you get all that in super fast recipes, with inspiration from around the world!

Rachel Ray’s Big Orange Book

The queen of 30 minute meals, Rachel Ray has done it again with this cookbook.  What I like about this one though is the inclusion of meals for one, perfect for those nights the boys are at their dad’s, and I don’t wanna do take-out!  Her section on Holiday Menus is also inspiring for fast, delicious dishes that are a twist on traditional classics.

Have you tried some of the recipes from these chefs?  Got some other cookbooks you love as a busy mom?  Leave a comment below and let me know!  I’m always looking to add to my collection!

Hi there! I'm Tracey!

I'm a single mom to two boys, full-time shift worker, and manager of a household (that now includes my parents).

While I feel like a crash test dummy some days, navigating this crazy, often overwhelming life, it's got some pretty great moments too, if you just know where to look!

My goal is to share ideas, provide inspiration, and challenge you to find the happiness, joy, and bliss in the every day chaos that is "your one wild and precious life".
